Last Minute Model
So, I wake up, its Monday, February 7th and I have a BUSY day ahead. I plan out my day, hour by hour with the work I need to get done and head out the door to get started. Fast forward a few hours... I've already attended class, and I'm just leaving the Fashion Week office to head back to campus to write a paper... just as I pull on campus I get a call from the one and only Kathryn LaGioia! Kathryn had a photoshoot planned at RIT with a new photographer and a new model friend of hers. However, the other model ended having to cancel last minute. So, Kathryn asked me if I would be able to step in. :: a million thoughts ran through my head :: I asked for five minutes... and after re-arranging some things, I called her back and said SIGN ME UP!
We shot right at RIT in one of the studios in building 7 with photographer Meredith Brockington, her assistant Christian Scully, Hair and Makeup Robyn Fazio and Melissa Stillman. Here are some of the images from the photoshoot! Thank you to Meredith and the entire team for a WONDERFUL shoot!!!

The Heather Dress
I am excited to be participating as a runway model in the Designs & Dreams: Fashion for Life Fashion Show, presented by University at Buffalo's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Alliance. This year's Designs and Dreams show is dedicated to bringing awareness to suicide prevention. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a charity that helps teens and young adults cope with depression and suicidal thoughts.
I will be walking for one of my favorite designers, Beth Eischen owner of Lilipad Creations, wearing a fabulous dress Beth has custom made for me!!! This year Beth made it her goal to design and construct dresses made out of fabrics and materials she already had in her studio. So, she created a story board, picked her models, matched them with fabric swatches... and began sowing!
When I saw my color swatch, I was extremely excited! I shared it with all my friend on Facebook, encouraging them to attend; after all, aside from the incredible designers that will be showing their clothes, it is for a great cause! So, imagine how elated I was to first see the dress on Facebook titled...
Yes. A dress made just for me, named after me! How awesome, right!? This will be the first time I will get to wear an outfit constructed specifically to my measurements... so I am really excited to try it on, and rock it down the runway!! This design will be available for custom order after Friday night's show. Let me know if you are interested, I have a feeling this is going to be a hot look for the spring ;-)
Other Designers:
- Holly Hue
- DMattliano
- Rodgers and Gibson
- Shana Feeley (Thomas Lee Designs)
- Christina Kim
- Splash Panic
- Lovesick Teenagers Vintage
- Katie Gariepy
